Hands free Readers
Traditionally, drivers have gained access to access control barriers or gates by using hand held key fobs or pass cards.
However, there are other parking applications for instance in locations of high volumes of airport shuttle buses or taxis where Hands Free readers are installed.
Pole mounted readers are usually installed behind the automatic parking barrier and can have read ranges of 4-10 metres between reader and vehicle transponder.
Where short distances of 4 metres are required, passive (no battery) self adhesive window tags are usually installed inside the vehicle windscreen. These are commonly used for contract parkers or taxi rank applications.
Where longer distance are required from 4-10 metres and speed of operation is paramount, active (battery) tags are mounted inside the windscreen.
